The Google marketing services allow Comasia Limited to display advertisements for and on its websites in a more targeted manner in order to present users only with advertisements that potentially correspond to their interests. In cases in which users are shown e.g. ads for products they have shown an interest in on other websites, this is referred to as "remarketing". Google executes a Google code for this when users call up websites on which Google marketing services are active, and remarketing tags (invisible graphics or codes) are integrated into the website. With their help, an individual cookie is stored on the user's device or comparable technologies are used. Users' data is processed in pseudonymised form within Google marketing services. This means that Google does not store and process e.g. the names or e-mail addresses of users, but processes the relevant data in relation to the cookies within pseudonymised user profiles. This means that, from Google's point of view, the ads are not managed and displayed for a specific person, but for the cookie holder, regardless of who this cookie holder is. This does not apply if a user has expressly permitted Google to process the data in non-pseudonymised form. The information collected by Google marketing services about users is transmitted to Google and stored on Google's servers in the USA.
One of the Google marketing services used by Comasia Limited is the online advertising program "Google AdWords". Each AdWords customer receives his or her own "conversion cookie". This prevents cookies from being traced via the websites of AdWords customers. The information collected by the cookie is used to generate conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. AdWords customers see the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag.
